Project 3 - Make a Mask

Remember it’s important that an adult helps you with any cutting out !!


Materials and Tools:

  • One sheet of A4 white card
  • Selection of coloured feathers
  • Some string
  • PVA Glue
  • One glue spreader
  • Scissors
  • Pencil with a rubber
  • Selection of Coloured felt-tip pens
  • Hole punch
  • One small desert plate



Draw around the plate on the A4 white card with a black felt-pen.

Carefully cut around the drawn circle.

Fold the circle in half.


Then fold a second time as shown above.


Now open to reveal half a circle. Draw a smaller circle (for eye holes) with the second fold in the centre.

Fold the circle again along the second fold line.


Cut out the small circle.



Open out to reveal your mask template.

Colour mask to make a creative imaginative design of your own.

Apply Glue to the mask.


Then add the feathers or any other decorations.

Use a hole punch to make 2 holes either side of the mask.

Thread the string through the 2 holes either side of the mask.

Aim of project:to allow children to develop their imagination while promoting hand and eye co-ordination.
Target age group: 5 years and above
Length of Session: Approx. 30 minutes -
Depending on the individuals needs.
