Project 2 - Bendy Pig and Friends

Remember it’s important that an adult helps you when cutting out the different shapes!!

Materials and Tools:

  • One piece of dark pink felt
  • One piece of light pink felt
  • Three white or pink pipe cleaners
  • One bright orange pipe cleaner
  • Two large Joggle eyes
  • All purpose glue
  • Black felt tip pen
  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Compass with pencil
  • Hole Punch

Use the ruler to set the compass to 5cm.

Draw a circle on the dark pink felt (this is the pig's body).

Carefully cut out the circle.

Using the hole punch, make 4 holes at equal distance apart, to fix the arms and legs.

Use the ruler to set the compass to 3cm, then draw a circle on another piece of dark pink felt (this is the pig's head).

Carefully cut out the circle.

Now use the ruler to set the compass to 2cm, then draw a circle on the light pink felt (this is the pig's nose). Carefully cut out the circle.

And then use the ruler to set the compass to 1cm, draw four circles on the dark pink felt (this is the pig's trotters). Carefully cut out the circles.

Take a small circles (pig's trotters) and fold it in half.

Then cut a triangle to the centre of the circle. Repeat steps 9 and 10 for the other three small circles.

Use the hole punch to make a hole in each of the small circles on the opposite side to the triangles.

Cut two pipe cleaners in half for the arms and legs of the pig.

Insert a pipe cleaner throughthe hole in one of the small circles (trotters).

And then twist the end to attach the trotter, repeat steps 13 and 14 for the other three small circles.

You should now have four legs like these.

Insert a pipe cleaner leg through a hole in the larger circle (pig's body).

Now twist the end to secure the leg, repeat steps 16 and 17 until all four legs are attached.

Your pig should now look like this.

On the light pink felt draw two triangles. Carefully cut round the edge of the drawn triangles (these are the pig's ears).

Glue the two triangles to the back of the medium size circle (pig's head) to make the ears.

Turn over the pig's head and glue it to the body as shown above.

Glue the pig's nose to the head.

Glue the Joggle eyes to the pig's head.

Draw two lines on the light pink felt nose.

Twist a pipe cleaner around a pen to make a tail.

Attach the tail through a leg hole on the body.

Twist an orange pipe cleaner into a bow and glue it to the top of the pig's head.

Now enjoy your new friend...
