Local Co-ordinators

Carol McGinn, Co-Ordinator for Norfolk
Carol is the founding member of Dyspraxia Foundation West Norfolk in October 1999. Carol started with a small monthly support group for parents in a Church in Kings Lynn as a result of having her son diagnosed with Dyspraxia and finding no support available. Carol is married with two children, Emma, who is 7 years old and Max, who is 10 years old.

Carol's qualifications are:
  • ACPC Child Protection
  • Basic First Aid
  • Health and Safety Course
  • Basic Management Course
  • Diploma in Management (in Progress)
  • Sales and Cashier Examination
  • Presentation Skills Course



Carol Hawkins, Co-Ordinator for Cambridgeshire

Became involved with Dyspraxia Foundation West Norfolk in February 2002 and became Cambridgeshire Local Contact, now the Cambridgeshire co-ordinator. Carol became involved with the Foundation as a result of battles for her 12-year-old daughter who has Dyspraxia. Carol is married with two daughters, Kim who is 18 years old and Sarah who is 12 years old.

Qualifications are as follows:
  • State Enrolled General Nurse
  • Basic First Aid training
  • ACPC Child Protection training
  • Risk Assessment training
  • Employee Appraisal training
  • Touch Typing Course
  • Diploma in Management (in progress)
  • Listening Skills Training with Samaritans

Together they are Joint Project Leaders for the Dyscoverers Club and set up the project with funding from the Children's Fund in April 2003.
